Beat — Non-GAAP diluted EPS $0.22 vs ~$0.18 consensus
Freshworks earnings beat Q3 revenue and EPS expectations, while stronger margins and cash flow lift the full-year profit outlook.
Freshworks is in the middle of an upmarket push: it is trying to turn Freshservice into a broader AI-powered service-operations platform, combining IT service management with adjacent tools such as FireHydrant while improving enterprise deal traction. The prior setup already called for roughly 14% growth and a profitable 2026, so this quarter is mainly about execution and margin expansion rather than a wholesale change in direction.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Income Statement) | $245.4M (+14.1%) | $215.1M | ~$245.1M |
| Non-GAAP diluted EPS (Non-GAAP reconciliation) | $0.22 | $0.16 | ~$0.18 |
| Non-GAAP operating income (Operating income reconciliation) | $73.2M | $45.2M | $59M-$61M prior guide |
| Adjusted free cash flow (Free cash flow reconciliation) | $73.9M (+29.2%) | $57.2M | — |
The quarter beat cleanly, with profitability doing most of the work. Revenue of $245.4 million landed just above the published consensus of about $245.1 million, while non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.22 exceeded the roughly $0.18 expectation. More importantly, non-GAAP operating income reached $73.2 million, well above the company’s prior $59 million-$61 million Q3 guide, producing a 29.8% margin. The company said, “We delivered a 30% non-GAAP operating margin and grew adjusted free cash flow by 29%.” 〔0〕
The real upgrade is the full-year profit outlook, not the revenue guide. Freshworks narrowed full-year revenue guidance to $965.0 million-$966.0 million from $963.5 million-$966.5 million, effectively keeping the growth outlook intact, but raised non-GAAP operating income guidance to $238 million-$240 million from $222 million-$228 million and lifted non-GAAP EPS guidance to about $0.71 from $0.66-$0.68. That indicates operating leverage is arriving faster than the sales trajectory alone would suggest.
The upmarket story is progressing, but demand expansion is not accelerating across every metric. Freshworks reported that new multi-product employee-experience deals increased more than 35% and that partners participated in more than half of new business, supporting the push toward larger, broader deployments. But net dollar retention was 104%, unchanged from Q2 and down from 105% a year earlier. The filing states, “Net dollar retention rate was 104%, compared to 104% in the second quarter of 2026 and 105% in the third quarter of 2025.” 〔1〕
Cash generation reinforces the quality of the margin improvement. Adjusted free cash flow rose to $73.9 million, with the margin expanding to 30.1% from 26.6% a year earlier. Stock-based compensation also declined to $38.8 million from $48.5 million, while share repurchases helped reduce diluted weighted-average shares to 266.4 million from 288.3 million in the comparable non-GAAP EPS calculation. The improvement is therefore not just a revenue beat; cost discipline, lower dilution and stronger cash conversion are contributing too.
Bottom line: Freshworks delivered a modest revenue beat but a more meaningful profitability beat and full-year profit-guide raise. The upmarket strategy is gaining traction, though flat net retention keeps this as an execution upgrade—not a rewritten growth story.
