Radian Group expands Inigo letter-of-credit facility to $880M

$260M facility increase — $880M total commitments vs. $620M before the amendment

Radian Group expanded its Inigo letter-of-credit facility to $880 million, supporting more Lloyd’s underwriting capacity without a new cash borrowing.

Radian is integrating Inigo, the Lloyd’s specialty insurer it acquired in February 2026, to diversify beyond mortgage insurance and build a global multi-line insurance platform. Inigo’s existing letter-of-credit facility supported roughly 40% of its Lloyd’s capital requirement, while Radian had already discussed expanding that capacity toward the 50% limit.

The filing materially increases Inigo’s underwriting capacity. The amended facility raises total letter-of-credit commitments from $620 million to $880 million, a $260 million or roughly 42% increase. The facility is intended to support Funds at Lloyd’s for the 2027 underwriting year and prior open years, giving Inigo more room to write business without funding the entire increase with cash. 〔0〕

This is supportive infrastructure, not fresh cash debt. Radian is becoming the parent and guarantor while Inigo Limited exits those roles; the facility remains a contingent letter-of-credit obligation used as Lloyd’s capital support. That advances the specialty-insurance strategy, but it does not by itself prove that Inigo will earn higher returns or that the additional capacity will be fully utilized. 〔1〕

The increase is partly expected rather than a surprise. Radian had already indicated that Inigo’s $620 million facility could be expanded toward the 50% Lloyd’s-capital limit, so the direction was known; the new information is the specific $260 million step-up and its application to the 2027 underwriting year. The amendment is also conditional: if the Effective Date has not occurred by November 30, 2026, the changes lapse unless extended. 〔2〕

Bottom line: Radian has secured a meaningful expansion of Inigo’s Lloyd’s capital capacity, reinforcing the post-acquisition growth plan. It matters operationally, but because the expansion was already telegraphed and remains contingent on closing conditions, this is a modest upgrade rather than a rewritten company story.
