Beat — Adjusted EPS $1.07 vs ~$0.97 consensus; revenue $283.0M vs ~$272.9M
EVERTEC earnings beat Q3 expectations and lifted 2026 revenue and adjusted EPS guidance, though Latin America’s mix is compressing margins.
EVERTEC is in the middle of a Latin America expansion: acquisitions such as Tecnobank and Dimensa are broadening it from a Puerto Rico-centered payments processor into a larger regional payments and financial-technology platform. Dimensa closed in April 2026, while management has been using acquisitions and partnerships to expand its Brazilian and broader Latin American footprint.
The quarter beat the market’s bar by a useful margin. Revenue reached $283.0 million, versus published expectations around $272.9 million, while adjusted EPS was $1.07 versus roughly $0.97 consensus. The revenue outperformance was not just currency: constant-currency revenue still grew 21%, and management cited acquisition contributions plus organic growth across most segments.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / Prior guide | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $283.0M (+23.8%) | $228.6M | $272.9M consensus |
| Adjusted EPS (Adjusted earnings reconciliation) | $1.07 (+16.3%) | $0.92 | ~$0.97 consensus |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Adjusted earnings reconciliation) | $110.5M (+19.3%) | $92.6M | |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (Adjusted EBITDA discussion) | 39.0% | 40.5% | |
| FY26 revenue guide (Outlook) | $1,088M–$1,096M | $1,085M–$1,095M prior guide | |
| FY26 adjusted EPS guide (Outlook) | $4.00–$4.08 | $3.94–$4.04 prior guide |
Management raised the full-year bar, not merely repeated it. The new revenue range moves the low end up by $3 million and the high end by $1 million; the adjusted EPS range moves up by $0.06 at the low end and $0.04 at the high end. That makes the event more than a quarterly beat: the company is carrying better execution into the remaining quarter.
The quality of growth is becoming more acquisition-led and lower-margin. Adjusted EBITDA rose $17.9 million, but margin fell to 39.0% from 40.5% as Latin America becomes a larger part of the mix. That is a real tradeoff: the acquisitions are accelerating scale and revenue, but they dilute margins relative to the legacy business. 〔0〕
GAAP earnings remain more pressured than the headline adjusted result. Diluted GAAP EPS declined to $0.49 from $0.51 because last year included a $6 million R&D tax-credit gain, while interest expense and taxes increased alongside acquisition-related debt and a greater contribution from higher-tax Latin American jurisdictions. This does not negate the operating beat, but it shows that the expansion is adding financing, amortization and tax drag.
The balance sheet confirms that the transformation is being funded with more leverage and cash investment. Long-term debt rose to $1.21 billion from $1.05 billion at year-end, while nine-month acquisition spending was $186.6 million and cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash fell to $328.7 million from $508.0 million. The company is still producing solid operating cash flow, but the cost of building the regional platform is becoming more visible.
Bottom line: EVERTEC delivered a genuine earnings beat and modestly raised its full-year outlook, strengthening the acquisition-led growth story. The main complication is that faster Latin American expansion is bringing lower margins and higher financing costs, making this a clearly positive but not risk-free step forward.
