Beat — Non-GAAP diluted EPS $1.32 vs ~$1.19 consensus; revenue $584.9M vs ~$550.8M consensus
Astera Labs earnings beat on record Q3 revenue and adjusted EPS, while Scorpio’s production ramp and new AI connectivity products widen the growth story.
Astera Labs is in the middle of a rapid AI-infrastructure expansion, moving from a signal-conditioning supplier toward a broader rack-scale connectivity platform built around Scorpio fabric switches, Leo memory controllers, Aries connectivity, and the new Orion reference architecture. The prior quarter had already pointed to a Q3 inflection from Scorpio’s 320-lane production ramp, so the direction was known; the size and breadth of the acceleration were the new information.
The quarter cleared the market’s bar by a wide margin. Revenue reached $584.9 million, ahead of published consensus of roughly $550.8 million, while non-GAAP diluted EPS was $1.32 versus about $1.19 expected. The company says revenue rose 49% sequentially and 154% year over year, with Scorpio becoming its largest product family by revenue.
| Metric | Q3 2026 / Q4 guide | Comparison | Consensus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Statements) | $584.9M (+49% QoQ) | $392.4M Q2; $230.6M Q3 2025 | ~$550.8M |
| Non-GAAP diluted EPS (Non-GAAP Reconciliation) | $1.32 | $0.80 Q2; $0.49 Q3 2025 | ~$1.19 |
| GAAP gross margin (Non-GAAP Reconciliation) | 72.3% | 73.3% Q2; 76.2% Q3 2025 | |
| Non-GAAP operating margin (Non-GAAP Reconciliation) | 44.7% | 39.1% Q2; 41.7% Q3 2025 | |
| Q4 2026 non-GAAP diluted EPS guide (Outlook) | $1.62–$1.66 | ~$1.34 |
Scorpio has moved from promise to material execution. The key business change is not simply another record quarter: the product that management had identified as the next growth engine is now the company’s largest revenue family. That makes the AI-fabric opportunity more tangible and reduces reliance on the older Aries-led revenue mix. The filing also reports accelerated design activity and new wins across multiple customers and applications.
The platform story is broadening, but much of the new portfolio is still future-facing. Aries 7 is expected to begin sampling in Q4 2026, while Orion reference and system designs are targeted for availability through partners beginning in Q1 2027. Leo’s expanded portfolio adds fabric-attached and pooled-memory products, but those launches represent future adoption opportunities rather than current-quarter revenue proof.
The main blemish is margin pressure beneath the growth. GAAP gross margin fell to 72.3% from 76.2% a year earlier and 73.3% in Q2, consistent with a faster ramp and changing product mix. Still, non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 44.7% from 41.7% a year earlier, so the quarter shows operating leverage despite the gross-margin step-down. The balance sheet also shows a heavier investment phase: accounts receivable rose to $284.3 million and inventory to $200.9 million from $83.2 million and $59.0 million at year-end, while operating cash flow remained positive at $341.5 million for the first nine months.
Bottom line: This was more than an expected Scorpio ramp: Astera delivered a sizable earnings beat and showed the new fabric-switch business becoming its core growth engine. The broader Aries, Leo, and Orion roadmap adds future upside to the business story, although gross-margin compression and rising working capital show the cost of scaling rapidly.
