Flux Power Holdings, Inc. (FLUX) · Nov 3, 2026 · Earnings
Miss — Net loss $0.15/share vs roughly $0.13-$0.14 consensus; Q2 guide $7M-$8M
Flux Power earnings met its stated revenue target, but heavier losses, weaker margins, and lower Q2 guidance keep financing risk central.
Flux Power is a small lithium-ion battery and fleet-intelligence supplier trying to rebuild growth through OEM partnerships, new material-handling customers, and robotics while cutting costs and surviving a severe liquidity squeeze. Its prior quarter had already pointed to a rebound, but the financing situation remained urgent: a September credit amendment required at least $4 million of equity proceeds within 50 days and imposed tighter operating controls.
The quarter cleared a deliberately low revenue bar, not the broader recovery test. Revenue of $6.8 million was above the roughly $6.2 million published expectation and matched management's prior $6 million-$7 million commitment, but it fell 18% sequentially and 49% year over year. The company says its largest material-handling customer returned with a meaningful order, yet the reported quarter still shows demand well below last year's level.
| Q1 FY2027 | Q1 FY2026 | Consensus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $6.8M (-48.7%) | $13.2M | ~$6.2M |
| Gross margin (Financial Highlights) | 24.8% | 28.6% | |
| Operating loss (Financial Highlights) | $(3.0)M | $(2.2)M | |
| Net loss/share (Financial Highlights) | $(0.15) | $(0.15) | ~$(0.13)-$(0.14) |
| Operating expenses (Financial Highlights) | $4.6M (-22.1%) | $5.9M |
Cost cutting is real, but it is not yet converting into better operating performance. Operating expenses declined 22% year over year, but gross margin compressed to 24.8% from 28.6%, leaving the operating loss wider at $3.0 million versus $2.2 million. Net loss per share also missed the approximate consensus range despite the expense reduction.
The more important change is that the expected rebound has been pushed lower. Flux guided fiscal Q2 revenue to $7 million-$8 million, below the previously anticipated $8 million-$9 million range. That is still sequential growth from $6.8 million, but it weakens the near-term recovery narrative just as the company is trying to prove that OEM certification, dealer expansion, and robotics orders can scale beyond isolated wins. 〔0〕
Liquidity remains the gating issue. Cash was only $0.4 million at September 30 against $22.6 million of current liabilities, while stockholders' equity turned negative at $(0.4) million. Management explicitly said it is evaluating financing alternatives and strategic partnerships, so the quarter did not remove the funding overhang; it reinforced that execution depends on securing capital quickly.
Bottom line: Flux Power delivered the low-end revenue outcome and has tangible customer and product activity, but the weaker Q2 outlook, margin pressure, larger losses, and near-term financing need leave the turnaround story modestly weaker rather than advanced. This matters less as a demand surprise than as evidence that the recovery is still underfunded and not yet profitable.
