Beat — Non-GAAP diluted EPS $0.45 vs ~$0.32 consensus; revenue $321.2M vs ~$306.7M
DigitalOcean earnings beat on revenue and adjusted EPS, while stronger AI demand pushes Q4 growth to 44–45% and 2027 growth above 60%.
DigitalOcean is transitioning from a developer-focused cloud into an AI-native infrastructure platform built around inference, data, GPUs, and agent workloads; its prior trajectory already pointed toward accelerating growth, but this quarter materially increases the pace and credibility of that shift.
The quarter cleared a high bar. Revenue reached $321.2 million, up 40% year over year, versus published consensus of roughly $306.7 million; non-GAAP diluted EPS was $0.45 versus roughly $0.32 expected. The result also exceeded the company’s prior Q3 revenue guide of $304–307 million.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $321.2M (+40%) | $229.6M | $306.7M |
| Non-GAAP diluted EPS (Non-GAAP Net Income) | $0.45 | $0.54 | ~$0.32 |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (Adjusted EBITDA) | 45% | 43% | |
| Adjusted operating income margin (Adjusted Operating Income) | 23% | 30% | |
| Adjusted free cash flow margin (Adjusted Free Cash Flow) | 41% | 37% | |
| Non-GAAP diluted shares (Non-GAAP Net Income) | 123.4M | 105.5M |
The important beat is operational, not just accounting. Adjusted EBITDA rose 45% and adjusted free cash flow rose 53% year over year, while the company said AI Customer ARR reached $376 million and inference token volume grew roughly tenfold sequentially. That suggests the growth acceleration is coming with stronger cash generation, even as GAAP operating margin compressed to 10% from 20% because investment, depreciation, and stock compensation are scaling with the infrastructure build.
Management raised the forward bar again. Q4 revenue guidance of $348–351 million implies 44–45% growth, above the prior Q3 trajectory and above the roughly $333 million external expectation; the company also now says full-year 2027 revenue growth should exceed 60%. This is more than routine reaffirmation: the AI thesis was already known, but the magnitude and duration of the acceleration are new. 〔0〕
The financing actions strengthen capacity without eliminating dilution. DigitalOcean repurchased approximately $472 million of convertible notes using a concurrent equity offering, reducing debt with limited net cash use and largely offsetting the shares issued. Still, the quarter’s non-GAAP diluted share count rose to 123.4 million from 105.5 million a year ago, so “minimal dilution” is not the same as no dilution.
Capacity is being secured ahead of the demand curve. The additional 20 megawatts of committed data-center capacity for 2028 gives the AI platform room to scale, but it also confirms that infrastructure availability and capital intensity remain central execution risks. 〔1〕
Bottom line: This was a clear earnings beat that materially strengthens DigitalOcean’s AI-driven growth story. The higher 2027 outlook matters more than the one-quarter EPS beat because it says management sees the acceleration continuing, not merely peaking in Q3.
