Expro Ltd (XPRO) · Nov 3, 2026 · Earnings
In line — Revenue $439.9M vs ~$442.4M consensus; Adjusted EBITDA $91M within $90M-$100M Q3 guide
Expro’s third-quarter earnings were broadly in line, with stronger cash-flow guidance offset by a sizable cut to 2026 EBITDA expectations.
Expro is in the middle of an expected recovery in energy-services activity while scaling its new Enhanced Drilling managed-pressure-drilling platform across its global offshore footprint. The acquisition was completed in July 2026 and is intended to broaden Expro’s technology-led well-construction offering.
The quarter itself was broadly on plan, not a clean beat. Revenue came in just below the available published consensus, while Adjusted EBITDA landed inside the company’s own $90 million-$100 million Q3 range. The sequential step-up was expected coming out of the weak first half, so the quarter confirms execution rather than rewriting the operating story. 〔0〕
| Q3 2026 | Consensus / prior guide | |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $439.9M (-0.5%) | ~$442.4M consensus |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Highlights) | $91M | $90M-$100M Q3 guide |
| Adjusted free cash flow (Financial Highlights) | $52M | $56M Q2 2026 |
| FY2026 revenue guidance (Financial Guidance) | $1,660M-$1,680M | $1,650M-$1,700M |
| FY2026 Adjusted EBITDA guidance (Financial Guidance) | $330M-$340M | $355M-$365M |
| FY2026 Adjusted free cash flow guidance (Financial Guidance) | $140M-$150M | $135M-$145M |
The important change is the mix between earnings and cash. Expro raised full-year adjusted free-cash-flow guidance by $5 million at both ends, helped by collections, working-capital discipline and lower expected capital spending. That is a real improvement in cash conversion, supported by $65 million of operating cash flow and $31 million of capital expenditures in the quarter.
But the near-term profit outlook weakened materially. The company cut full-year Adjusted EBITDA guidance from $355 million-$365 million to $330 million-$340 million, saying roughly $20 million of high-margin work shifted from the fourth quarter into 2027. The work remains in backlog, so this is primarily a timing setback rather than lost demand, but it lowers the earnings profile investors had been expecting for the current year. 〔1〕
Enhanced Drilling is progressing, but its payoff is still ahead. Expro has begun its first West Africa operations using the acquired technology and expects a full-year contribution in 2027. That supports the longer-term expansion strategy, but this filing provides more evidence of future platform potential than of immediate incremental profit. 〔2〕
Capital returns remain active despite lower liquidity. Expro repurchased roughly $12 million of shares since June 30 and authorized a new $100 million plan, while quarter-end liquidity fell to $260 million from $492 million at June 30, partly reflecting the acquisition and capital deployment. The buyback is supportive of the capital-allocation story, but it does not offset the lower 2026 EBITDA outlook.
Bottom line: Expro delivered the expected quarterly recovery and improved its cash-flow outlook, but the $20 million timing shift and lower EBITDA guidance make the overall update mixed rather than positive. The business is still advancing, though more of the earnings payoff now sits in 2027.
