Beat — Adjusted EPS $0.66 vs ~$0.62 consensus; revenue $7.344B vs ~$7.33B
Keurig Dr Pepper’s Q3 earnings narrowly beat consensus, while reaffirmed 2026 guidance quietly lowers expectations for its legacy coffee business.
KDP is in the middle of absorbing JDE Peet’s while preparing to separate its beverage and coffee businesses, with leverage and U.S. Coffee execution the key pressure points. The prior framework already called for a roughly 4.1x year-end leverage ratio and a major JDE contribution, while U.S. Coffee was the weak link in the combined platform.
The quarter cleared a modest bar, not by a wide margin. Adjusted diluted EPS of $0.66 was slightly above the published consensus of roughly $0.62, and revenue of $7.344 billion was only modestly above the roughly $7.33 billion expectation. That makes this an execution beat, but not a result large enough to rewrite the operating story. The filing says, “Adjusted diluted EPS increased 22.2% to $0.66.” 〔0〕
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net sales (Financial Highlights) | $7.344B (+70.6%) | $4.306B | $7.33B |
| Adjusted diluted EPS (Financial Highlights) | $0.66 (+22.2%) | $0.54 | ~$0.62 |
| Adjusted operating income (Financial Highlights) | $1.670B (+52.5%) | $1.091B | |

The underlying business was healthier than the headline growth suggests. JDE Peet’s supplied $2.649 billion of quarterly sales and $480 million of adjusted operating income, but legacy KDP still grew sales 8.6% excluding the acquisition. U.S. Refreshment Beverages delivered 8.3% adjusted operating-income growth, offsetting weakness in U.S. Coffee. The filing states, “Excluding the contribution from the JDE Peet’s acquisition, legacy KDP net sales increased 8.6%.” 〔1〕
The important offset is that the legacy coffee problem is worsening, even as total guidance holds. KDP reaffirmed $25.9–$26.4 billion of 2026 sales and low-double-digit adjusted EPS growth, but now expects only 3–5% constant-currency EPS growth from the legacy business because of revised U.S. Coffee expectations, versus the prior 4–6% framework. U.S. Coffee adjusted operating income fell 24.7% in the previous quarter and remains the clearest execution drag. The filing says, “This guidance now includes approximately $8.3-$8.4billion in net sales and a 7 to 8 percentage point EPS growth contribution from the JDE Peet’s acquisition.”
Cash generation supports the integration, but the balance sheet remains part of the story. Year-to-date free cash flow nearly doubled to $1.908 billion, helping fund the transaction and separation work, yet pro forma net debt remained $27.945 billion and leverage was 4.1x. The filing also includes a $99 million tariff-refund benefit in quarterly operating income, so some of the margin strength was helped by a non-recurring item.
Bottom line: KDP delivered a small earnings beat and showed solid execution outside U.S. Coffee, but the revised legacy-business outlook keeps the result mixed rather than transformational. JDE Peet’s is carrying the growth story while KDP works through coffee weakness, leverage, and the planned separation.
