Miss — GAAP EPS -$0.28 vs ~$0.06 consensus; revenue $108.0M vs ~$105.9M
BRC earnings beat revenue expectations and reaffirmed guidance, but a major impairment and restructuring costs drove a much deeper GAAP loss.
BRC is shifting from a capital-heavy coffee-and-retail model toward wholesale-led growth, while trying to stabilize DTC and shrink underperforming Outposts. Wholesale was already the strategic priority, DTC had begun recovering, and management had flagged limited Outpost growth with possible closures; the new information is the scale and cost of the restructuring.
The operating quarter was better than the headline loss. Revenue rose 7.3% to $108.0 million, ahead of the published ~$105.9 million consensus, with wholesale up 8.1% and DTC up 8.5%. The mix is moving in the intended direction: wholesale is carrying growth, while DTC has now delivered a fourth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth. 〔0〕

The earnings miss reflects a costly reset, not collapsing demand. GAAP EPS was a $0.28 loss versus roughly $0.06 expected, largely because Project Core produced an $11.7 million asset impairment and additional lease, legal, and restructuring charges. Other operating expense jumped to $9.3 million from $0.6 million. Adjusted EBITDA still improved to $9.5 million, but that measure excludes the very costs showing how disruptive the transition is.
Project Core advances the long-term model while making the near-term story messier. BRC signed to sell its Manchester roasting facility, plans to close 12 company-operated Outposts, modified eight leases, and divested a non-core DTC brand. 〔1〕 That supports a more asset-light structure and reduces future capital needs, but it also creates roughly $3 million of fourth-quarter revenue headwinds and confirms that the Outpost footprint is being actively downsized.
Guidance is intact, but the bar was not raised. BRC reaffirmed at least 8% full-year revenue growth and at least 35% Adjusted EBITDA growth despite the planned closures and divestiture. 〔2〕 That is reassuring execution against the existing plan, not an upside revision; the quarter therefore lands as a revenue beat and strategic step forward offset by a clear GAAP earnings miss.
Bottom line: BRC’s core wholesale-and-DTC growth is holding up, but the cleanup needed to reach a leaner model is more expensive than the headline operating improvement suggests. The filing modestly weakens the near-term earnings read while keeping the broader repositioning intact.
