Beat — Revenue $97.8M vs ~$90.5M consensus; adjusted EBITDA $23.8M vs $12M-$14M guide
Ibotta’s Q3 earnings beat expectations on accelerating publisher growth and sharply higher EBITDA, though direct-to-consumer revenue continued to decline.
Ibotta is rebuilding growth through its Ibotta Performance Network: third-party retailers and delivery platforms distribute its digital promotions, while the company works to replace weaker direct-to-consumer momentum with broader publisher reach. The prior quarter had already signaled a recovery, with Q3 revenue guided to $86 million-$90 million and adjusted EBITDA to $12 million-$14 million.
The quarter materially beat the operating bar. Revenue reached $97.8 million, above both the company’s $86 million-$90 million guide and the published consensus of roughly $90.5 million; adjusted EBITDA was $23.8 million, far above the $12 million-$14 million guide. The result validates that the publisher-led recovery is arriving faster and with better operating leverage than expected. 〔0〕

The mix is the most important improvement. Third-party publisher redemptions jumped 57% and third-party publisher revenue rose 43%, showing that growth is coming from the strategic network rather than a temporary rebound in Ibotta’s own consumer app. The company also launched Giant Eagle promotions and brought 7-Eleven and Speedway live after quarter-end, extending the channel that is driving the upside.
The beat is not a clean GAAP profitability turnaround. Ibotta still posted a $3.5 million GAAP loss, while direct-to-consumer revenue fell 20% and total redemption revenue per redemption declined 13%. That means the business is scaling volume through publishers, but monetization per redemption and the legacy D2C channel remain pressure points.
Cash generation held up despite the accounting loss. Nine-month operating cash flow was $65.6 million and free cash flow was $48.1 million, slightly ahead of the prior year, although cash fell to $149.9 million after $84.7 million of share repurchases. The quarter therefore strengthens the operating story, but does not eliminate the need to watch publisher economics and the pace at which new partners ramp.
Bottom line: Ibotta delivered a genuine earnings beat, led by faster third-party publisher adoption and much better-than-expected EBITDA. The core network story is strengthening, even though D2C contraction and a GAAP loss keep the turnaround incomplete.
