Beat — Revenue $235.2M vs ~$163.1M consensus; diluted non-GAAP EPS $0.49 vs ~$0.37
Ethos earnings show explosive Q3 growth and a major 2026 guidance raise, though third-party mix is compressing margins.
Ethos is scaling a digital life-insurance platform through two engines: direct-to-consumer distribution and a rapidly expanding network of independent agents and agencies. The third-party channel had already become an important growth focus, but the company’s prior Q3 revenue guide was only $160–164 million, with full-year revenue expected at $727–731 million.
The quarter was far ahead of the standing bar. Revenue reached $235.2 million, roughly 44% above the midpoint of the company’s prior Q3 guide and well above the published consensus of about $163.1 million; diluted non-GAAP EPS was $0.49 versus roughly $0.37 expected.
| Figure | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide |

| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $235.2M (+150.8%) | $93.8M | ~$163.1M consensus |
| Diluted non-GAAP EPS (Non-GAAP reconciliation) | $0.49 | $0.28 | ~$0.37 consensus |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Highlights) | $34.9M | $18.7M | $23–25M prior guide |

| FY2026 revenue guide (Financial Outlook) | $838–842M | — | $727–731M prior guide |
| FY2026 adjusted EBITDA guide (Financial Outlook) | $134–136M | — | $119–123M prior guide |
The growth engine is broadening, but the mix is less profitable. Direct-channel revenue rose 112% to $118.8 million while third-party revenue surged 209% to $116.4 million, making the agency channel nearly half of quarterly revenue. That is strategically important because Ethos has been building scale through agents and carriers, but it also explains why average revenue per activated policy fell 13% to $1,655 and contribution margin dropped to 28% from 39%.
Management raised the outlook by more than the quarter alone would require. The new full-year revenue midpoint of $840 million is about 15% above the previous midpoint, while the adjusted EBITDA midpoint rose about 12% to $135 million. That is a meaningful reset of the company’s near-term scale story, not merely a confirmation of strong execution.
GAAP profitability remains the important caveat. Q3 GAAP net income was only $4.7 million, versus $15.9 million a year earlier, and nine-month net income was a $142.2 million loss. Stock-based compensation totaled $240.2 million through nine months, which is why adjusted results look substantially better than reported earnings. Cash generation was strong at $40.7 million in Q3 and $107.6 million through nine months, but the margin profile is clearly not as clean as the headline revenue growth.
The buyback is authorization, not execution. The board authorized repurchases of up to $100 million, but the filing says no shares had been repurchased since the program was announced. It adds optionality to capital allocation, but does not yet change the operating story or offset the dilution concern from stock compensation.
Bottom line: Ethos materially beat its near-term growth and earnings bar and raised full-year guidance, strengthening the case that its platform is scaling faster than expected. The main qualification is that third-party-led growth is diluting margins and reported GAAP profitability remains heavily affected by stock compensation, so this is a strong execution update rather than a fully clean margin story.
