Ingram Micro earnings beat as AI sales lift growth and cash flow

Beat — Non-GAAP diluted EPS $0.91 vs ~$0.78 consensus

Ingram Micro earnings beat expectations, powered by GPU, AI infrastructure and cloud growth. Cash flow also swung sharply positive despite heavier working-capital needs.

Ingram Micro is transitioning from a traditional technology distributor toward an intelligence-led platform built around Xvantage, AI-enabled operations, cloud services and higher-value infrastructure solutions. Its September 2026 Capital Markets Day laid out that strategy and a long-term framework centered on faster profit growth than revenue growth.

The quarter cleared the market’s bar by a wide margin. Non-GAAP diluted EPS was $0.91 versus a published consensus of roughly $0.78, while revenue reached $15.2 billion versus expectations around $13.8 billion. The filing says, “The Company reported net sales of $15.2 billion, up 20.8% year-over-year,” and “Non-GAAP net income of $210.6 million, or $0.91 per share.”

AI demand is now translating into material revenue acceleration. Advanced Solutions grew 40% globally, with North American Advanced Solutions up 61%, while cloud-based solutions rose 31%. That makes the AI-infrastructure narrative more tangible than a strategy presentation alone: GPU, server and networking demand is producing a large near-term sales contribution across regions. 〔0〕

The quality of that growth is mixed, but the operating model is improving. GPU and AI-infrastructure deals carry lower gross margins, pulling consolidated gross margin down to 6.55% from 6.90%. However, excluding those large deals, gross margin was roughly flat at 7.06% versus 7.10%, while operating margin still expanded to 1.93% from 1.77% because expenses grew more slowly than sales. In other words, the company is accepting thinner product margins to capture strategic AI volume, but so far expense leverage is more than offsetting the mix pressure.

Cash conversion was the quarter’s biggest incremental proof point. Operating cash flow was $251.4 million versus a $146.0 million outflow a year earlier, and adjusted free cash flow was $249.5 million versus negative $109.9 million. That matters because rapid distribution growth consumes inventory and receivables; the filing shows inventory up to $6.57 billion from $4.97 billion at year-end and receivables up to $11.53 billion from $10.55 billion. The improvement was funded substantially through higher accounts payable, so the cash rebound is meaningful but remains tied to working-capital management rather than a low-investment business model.

The dividend increase is supportive but secondary to the earnings signal. The quarterly dividend rose 2.3% to $0.088 per share, payable November 23, 2026, while the company also repurchased $122.0 million of stock during the first 39 weeks. Those actions indicate confidence in ongoing cash generation, but the central change in the business story is still the combination of AI-led growth, operating leverage and improved cash conversion.

Bottom line: This was a genuine earnings beat, not just a favorable presentation: revenue and adjusted EPS materially exceeded expectations, and cash flow improved sharply. The trade-off is lower gross margin from AI hardware mix, but the quarter strengthens the case that Ingram Micro is converting the AI demand cycle into profitable scale.
