Beat — Adjusted EPS $1.25 vs ~$1.21 consensus
TransUnion’s Q3 earnings modestly beat EPS expectations and raised full-year adjusted EPS guidance, while organic growth stayed broad but margins declined.
TransUnion is in the middle of a multi-year shift from a traditional credit bureau toward a broader data, analytics, fraud, insurance, and international platform, while completing its OneTru technology migration. The prior trajectory was already established: OneTru rollout, international expansion, and diversification beyond credit were expected to support durable high-single-digit organic growth.
The quarter was a modest beat, led by earnings rather than revenue. Adjusted diluted EPS came in at $1.25 versus published consensus of roughly $1.21, while revenue of $1.313 billion was essentially in line with the roughly $1.31 billion expectation. Adjusted EPS increased 14% year over year, while organic constant-currency revenue grew 8%.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $1.313B | +12% reported; +8% organic constant currency (Financial Highlights) |
| Adjusted EBITDA | $465M | +9% year over year; 35.4% margin (Financial Highlights) |
| Adjusted diluted EPS | $1.25 | +14% year over year; ~$1.21 consensus |
| U.S. Markets revenue | $977M | +7% organic constant currency (U.S. Markets results) |
| International revenue | $339M | +10% organic constant currency (International results) |
| FY 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guide | $4.81–$4.88 | Raised from $4.75–$4.83 (Full-year guidance) |
The underlying growth mix is healthier than the headline revenue number suggests. U.S. Financial Services grew 11%, international organic growth accelerated to 10%, and India grew 18%; that supports the diversification strategy and offsets weakness in Consumer Interactive and continued mortgage-rate pressure.
The main quality issue is margin pressure, not demand. Adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 35.4% from 36.3% a year earlier, with the filing attributing roughly 60 basis points of pressure to FICO mortgage royalties and another 40 basis points to underlying factors. The company still expects underlying margin expansion, but reported profitability remains diluted by the no-margin FICO revenue stream and acquisition integration.
The guidance change is favorable but narrow. TransUnion kept revenue and Adjusted EBITDA guidance at the high end of the existing ranges and raised adjusted EPS guidance to $4.81–$4.88 from $4.75–$4.83, helped by lower net interest expense and share repurchases. 〔0〕 That is better than a routine reaffirmation, but it is partly financial-engineered through interest savings and buybacks rather than a broad increase in operating targets.
Bottom line: This is a modestly better-than-expected quarter that reinforces TransUnion’s diversified growth story and slightly lifts the earnings outlook. The signal is positive, but not a clean operating breakout because revenue was roughly in line and reported margins still contracted.
