Victory Capital AUM update: Q3 flows surge, assets dip

$11.7B Q3 net inflows — Q3 long-term inflows of $11.7B vs $4.2B in Q2

Victory Capital’s AUM update shows a sharp Q3 inflow rebound, but month-end client assets declined as equity categories contracted.

Victory Capital is an asset manager trying to turn its broader investment platform and ETF capabilities into sustained organic growth after negative long-term flows in the first quarter and $4.2 billion of inflows in the second. The flow trend accelerated materially. Third-quarter long-term net inflows reached $11.7 billion, more than twice the second-quarter figure. That is the clearest new information in the release and supports the business story that client demand is improving.

MetricSeptember 30, 2026August 31, 2026Change
Total AUM$351.9B$356.5B-$4.6B
Total client assets$355.5B$360.2B-$4.7B
Q3 long-term net inflows$11.7B——
U.S. mid-cap equity assets$27.9B$30.1B-$2.2B
U.S. small-cap equity assets$9.7B$10.4B-$0.7B
U.S. large-cap equity assets$66.0B$67.0B-$1.0B

The asset-base snapshot is less clean than the flow number. Despite strong underlying inflows, total AUM and client assets were down about $4.6 billion to $4.7 billion from August, with the largest declines concentrated in U.S. equity categories. The filing does not separate market performance from client activity, so it does not prove whether the month-end decline was market-driven, flow-driven, or both. Total AUM was reported at $351.9 billion and total client assets at $355.5 billion as of September 30.

This is a meaningful operating improvement, not a clean all-clear. The inflow acceleration is better than the recent trajectory, but the smaller month-end asset base means the benefit has not yet translated into uninterrupted AUM growth. The next earnings release should show whether the unusually strong quarterly inflows are broad-based and economically valuable across vehicles and products.

Bottom line: Client demand improved sharply in the third quarter, but the asset base still contracted at month-end. The filing advances Victory Capital’s organic-growth story, while leaving the quality and durability of that growth to be confirmed in the full earnings report.
