CFO assumes accounting role
BARK’s executive change is operationally contained: its principal accounting officer resigns, while CFO Anya Hamill takes over immediately.
BARK is in the middle of shifting beyond its traditional subscription-box business toward retail commerce, consumables and premium services such as BARK Air, while operating with a leaner, debt-free structure. This filing does not alter that strategy. Principal accounting officer Brian Dostie is leaving to pursue another opportunity, effective October 23, 2026, and stopped serving in the role on October 9. 〔0〕
The transition is covered immediately by the existing CFO. BARK designated Anya Hamill as principal accounting officer effective October 9, with no additional compensation; her CFO appointment was already disclosed in July, so the personnel change is partly known rather than a wholly new leadership disruption. 〔1〕 〔2〕 The filing also removes the main governance concern. BARK says the resignation was not caused by a dispute over accounting, disclosures or internal controls. 〔3〕
Bottom line: This is a contained executive transition, not a change to BARK’s operating plan or financial story. It is worth noting because the accounting officer is departing, but the immediate CFO coverage makes the filing broadly routine and neutral versus expectations.
