Debt repaid; treasury reduced — $22.45M debt repaid with 267.4 BTC; secured debt cut to $1.25M
PowerCompute’s September earnings update shows faster Bitcoin production and near-total debt repayment, but at the cost of most of its Bitcoin treasury.
PowerCompute is transitioning from a small Bitcoin miner into a power-infrastructure platform that can allocate its 26 MW across Bitcoin mining, energy sales, and eventually HPC/AI computing. The company had already announced its debt refinancing, fleet upgrades, and HPC/AI direction; the September update mainly shows how that transition is progressing operationally.
| Metric | September 2025 | August 2026 | September 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin mined, net | 5.9 BTC | 7.9 BTC | 8.1 BTC |
| Energy sales | — | — | ~$89,000 |
| Bitcoin applied to debt | — | — | 267.4 BTC |
| Ending Bitcoin balance | 304.5 BTC | 323.02 BTC | 63.7 BTC |
| Secured debt | — | $23.70M | $1.25M |
The operating trend is modestly improving, not accelerating. September production rose 37% year over year and 2.7% from August, but 8.1 BTC is only a small sequential gain and the filing provides no evidence yet that the planned fleet upgrades or new capacity have materially changed output. The company also generated approximately $89,000 from seasonal curtailment, bringing three-month energy sales to approximately $312,000. 〔0〕
The biggest change is balance-sheet risk, not growth. PowerCompute used 267.4 BTC to retire approximately $22.45 million of principal and accrued interest, reducing secured debt from $23.70 million to $1.25 million and releasing all pledged collateral. That removes the Bitcoin-backed financing burden, but it also leaves the company with only 63.7 BTC versus 323.02 BTC at the end of August. 〔1〕
The filing does not yet validate the HPC/AI pivot. Management again describes power allocation among Bitcoin mining, energy sales, and future HPC/AI computing, but this update reports no HPC customers, deployed GPU capacity, or compute revenue. The business remains primarily a Bitcoin-mining and power-optimization story for now, with the debt cleanup making the eventual pivot less encumbered rather than proving it commercially. The company’s prior disclosures likewise described HPC/AI as an expansion initiative rather than an established revenue engine.
Bottom line: PowerCompute materially reduced financial leverage, but paid for it by surrendering most of its Bitcoin treasury. The update is strategically constructive on solvency and only modestly positive on operations; it does not yet show that the HPC/AI transition is producing results.
