The quarter cleared a lowered-but-still-positive market bar. Published estimates were roughly $867.2 million of revenue and $1.08-$1.09 of non-GAAP diluted EPS; Docusign delivered $875.7 million and $1.16, respectively. That is about a 1% revenue beat and a roughly 6%-7% adjusted-EPS beat, making this a genuine earnings Beat rather than merely a strong-looking year-over-year comparison.
| Metric | Q2 FY27 | Q2 FY26 | Market expectation / change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $875.7M | $800.6M | ~$867.2M consensus |
| Non-GAAP diluted EPS | $1.16 | $0.92 | ~$1.08-$1.09 consensus |
| Non-GAAP operating margin | 31.6% | 29.8% | Up 180 bps YoY |
| Free cash flow | $295.8M | $217.6M | Up 36% YoY |
| Non-GAAP gross margin | 81.7% | 82.0% | Down 30 bps YoY |
| Diluted shares | 193.1M | 211.0M | Down 8.5% YoY |
Profitability and cash generation did more of the work than topline acceleration. Revenue rose 9.4% year over year, while non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 31.6% and free-cash-flow margin reached 34% (Income Statement; Reconciliation of operating expenses; Computation of free cash flow). The EPS beat was also helped by substantially fewer diluted shares, reflecting the company’s repurchase program rather than a step-change in underlying revenue growth.
Management raised the forward framework, which is the clearest incremental signal. Full-year revenue guidance moved to $3.499-$3.507 billion from the prior $3.490-$3.502 billion range, while ARR growth guidance rose to 8.50%-9.00% from 8.25%-8.75% based on the prior outlook. The company also raised its Q3 revenue range to $886-$890 million. The release explicitly says, “Docusign is raising its outlook as AI accelerates momentum across the business.” 〔0〕
The net read is a meaningful beat with improving execution, not a breakout-growth reset. AI and IAM activity now have financial support through the raised outlook and margin expansion, but the company still guides to only about 9% revenue growth and 8.75% ARR growth at the midpoint. Gross margin slipped year over year, and the filing provides no new quantified disclosure showing that AI products are yet materially accelerating the growth rate. Versus expectations, however, the combination of an EPS and revenue beat, higher guidance, stronger cash flow, and lower share count lands clearly above the bar.
