The quarter cleared a high bar on both revenue and earnings. Published expectations were roughly $214.2 million of revenue and $(0.07) in non-GAAP EPS; Netskope delivered $220.5 million and $(0.03), respectively—about a 3% revenue beat and a four-cent EPS beat.
| Metric | Q2 FY27 | Prior-year Q2 / expectation |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $220.5M | $170.8M; ~$214.2M consensus (Income Statement) |
| ARR | $899M | $709M implied by 27% growth (Financial Highlights) |
| Non-GAAP EPS | $(0.03) | $(0.32) prior year; $(0.07) consensus |
| Non-GAAP operating margin | (9)% | (20)% prior year; Q2 guide of roughly (14)% to (15)% |
| Free cash flow | $(29.8)M | $(19.7)M prior year (Selected Cash Flow Information) |
The beat was broad, not just a revenue timing win. ARR rose 27% year over year to $899 million, while non-GAAP operating margin improved to negative 9% from negative 20% a year earlier. The company also said Q2 results exceeded guidance across every metric, with revenue above the prior $213 million to $215 million range and operating losses materially narrower than guided. 〔0〕
Management raised the full-year framework, strengthening the forward read. FY27 revenue guidance moved to $888 million–$892 million from $879 million–$883 million previously, while non-GAAP EPS improved to $(0.15) from $(0.18). The revenue increase is modest, but raising the range after an above-plan quarter signals that the upside was not fully absorbed into the prior outlook.
Cash generation is the main offset, but not enough to erase the beat. Free cash flow deteriorated to negative $29.8 million from negative $19.7 million a year ago, and first-half free cash flow was negative $87.0 million versus negative $2.2 million last year. 〔1〕 The company still retains roughly $1.1 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities, giving it room to fund continued expansion, but the cash conversion trend remains weaker than the headline profitability improvement.
Net read: a genuine earnings beat with a raised outlook. Revenue, adjusted EPS, operating margin, ARR, and FY27 guidance all landed better than the standing expectation; the principal concern is that heavy stock-based compensation and negative free cash flow temper the quality of the improvement rather than reverse the overall positive surprise.
